What Dr. Green’s patients say
Patient surveys Read them on the HSS profile →This whole experience was amazing despite the what we were there for. The staff the nurses and recovery truly thankful
Overall great experience, professional and kind staff. Very organized hospital.
Dr Green met with us and explained everything before and after the surgery. Again, answering any questions.
Answered all questions clearly
She felt very comfortable and part of the process
Everyone was professional. From the front desk . The secretary .xray staff and Dr green. I would recommend Everyone to Hss.
My daughter said that if there was a higher rating than ”very good” she would want to choose that one.
Excellent excellent excellent!
My son refers to Dr. Green, and the staff at HSS, as his friends. As frequent fliers on the 5th Floor this is extremely important and something that a survey like this can even place value on.
Dr Green has been an amazing doctor and he’s just the best .
Very special thanks to Dr. Green for his attention and great care
We are so grateful to be in the expert hands of Dr. Green and Nurse Kim.
Dr Green is amazing and I fully trust him with my daughter’s knees. The staff is wonderful too. People are crazy to go anywhere else for orthopedic surgery. NYC is not that far.
Dr. Green was very patient and listened to us and explained everything in a way we could understand. We felt very comfortable with his plan and confident he was the best doctor we could have chosen for our son
Not our first time at HSS. Best hospital we’ve ever been to.

Questions parents ask
What is the best treatment for a pediatric ACL tear?
There is no single answer — the right operation depends on how much growing the child has left to do. Where the growth plates are still open, Dr. Green uses physeal-sparing and all-epiphyseal techniques that work around the growth plate. In older adolescents he also uses quadriceps tendon grafts and lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET). The decision begins with a precise diagnosis and his own independent review of the imaging, then what the child wants to get back to.
Is surgery needed for a discoid meniscus in a child?
Not in every case. A discoid meniscus is one that formed in a disc shape rather than the usual C shape. When it causes symptoms such as catching, swelling or pain, Dr. Green’s approach is saucerization — reshaping the meniscus — together with repair where the tissue allows it.
What is a tibial spine fracture in children?
It is also called a tibial eminence fracture. Rather than the ACL tearing in its mid-substance, the piece of bone where the ligament attaches to the top of the shin pulls away. It occurs in children because that bone is still developing. It is one of the injuries Dr. Green’s research has concentrated on.
What are the treatments for patella (kneecap) dislocation in children?
For recurrent instability Dr. Green performs MPFL reconstruction. Where the alignment of the bone is driving the dislocations, he also performs tibial tubercle osteotomy and Fulkerson osteotomy. Which applies depends on the diagnosis and on the imaging review.
